I'm not cheap, just...

I gotta say this first. I saw a movie on TV a couple of years ago. It was about some guys who were in the Army stationed overseas, West Germany. It was a comedy. I was writing a book one time ago, saved it to a 5 and 3 quartered floppy disk, yep that's right. Well, the computer went 86, and I lost the disk. I was wondering if some one found it, and turned it into a movie. The name of the movie was A Soldier's Story. No, not that Soldier's Story, a completely different one.

I'm not cheap, even though some people call me that. I say I'm thrifty. I went to my mothers house in The Bronx, she was having computer problems, and I'm certified in PC Repair. WinPC Defender is a Mal ware, Spy Ware, just plain nasty program, that pops up on your desktop. Its kind of hard to get rid of, registry is involved, but there are programs to erase it, some free, some trail, and pay for. My mother went with pay for. It works great. While I'm at her house, I pick up all the Newsweek, Time and New York magazines that she has and are finished with. In one of the articles, can't remember what mag it was, they were talking about the times we are economically. The write said that his father, was living thriftily back then, and it taught him how to deal with the way times are now. I feel the same way today.

I'm not poor, but I'm not rich either. I never wanted to own a car, but I owned 2 of em, while I was in the Army over in Germany. Never wanted to own a house either. I have hay fever, and cutting grass would drive me crazy. Along with shoveling snow in the winter to keep my sidewalks clean, doesn't appeal to me, don't like cold weather. Repairs to a house, when needed, I'm no Bob Vila either. To take it further, I don't need a whole apartment too. If I do decide to rent an apartment, the only area that would be furnished would be the bedroom. An apartment is way too much space for me, hence I rent a room, in a house, that has grass and a backyard. Its not my responsibility to maintain it either. If I want something, I save for it and pay with cash. I live thriftily, I like that word.

As for entertaining female guest, I know how to do that for less also. Especially living in NYC. For some strange reason, people equate doing well with spending large. I'm the complete opposite. I will go to the salvation army store at the drop of a hat. Payless is my go to place to shop for shoes or sneakers. I buy for as needed cause I'm an assistant cook. Cooking all day, the last thing I want to do is come home and eat.

I asked myself, is that why I'm alone, without calling someone my girl, wife ? Who knows and who cares. I don't, I like me and that's what matters.
