On The Other Side of The Doors...Toto, We're Not In Kansas Anymore'

Nephew graduating from Renesslear College today, so I jumped into the car with my sister and her husband for the 3 hour drive to Albany/ Troy New York. Ipod Nano..check, Android Tablet..check. Staying awake for the whole trip..that didn't happen at all.

At hotels and restaurants, I've always been on the other side of the doors...in the kitchen. Feels strange to be sitting at the table and being waited on. I mean I have worked inthat capacity before; filling in for a waiter who called in sick, saw it as an adventure too. Well, after the trip up, we went to Angelo's 677 Prime, a Steak House for lunch. I ordered a burger. My brother in law paid for everything, but I couldn't help but noticed the prices. OMG, that much for a burger, AND the place was packed for lunch.

My brother and sister also drove up, my sister took along my 12 year old nephew too. Checked in Hotel Albany, shared a room with my brother.

We were suppose to go to a dinner ceromony held by the college, with a meal that had a decent price, but... since my brother in law loved the restaurant we ate lunch at, our party of 10, he decided that dinner would be also at this resturant too. That meant steak. I have you know that dead cows; we cooked properly, are VERY freakin' expensive!! I had. $41 steak. Hell, I felt I should've got a lap dance with it too. The salad alone could've feed a family of 3. I don't drink, so after 2 to 3 sips of some one wine, I wasn't feeling any pain. The table had 4 bottles.

Its raining and has BEEN raining for 3 days now. Was suppose to be held out doors, but onhthe news last night on tv, they said the ceromonies arevbeing held in doors. Since its limited seating, only 3 are allowed in for the live galor, all others are in a room with a video feed. Okay, I'm ready to go back home now then. So, for 3 hours I have to sit and watch it on video monitors? What fun is that. And THREE HOURS !?? OUCH!

I have 2 female friends that live up here, I contacted them. I told them before hand I was going to be in the area, they thought I was bullshitting them also. Now when I called them, they came up with some excuse, 'the dog is sick', my gold fish aren't feeling well' type of an excuse. But when I was back down in the city, they couldn't wait until they see me. I'm going to go into that one later though, cause right now at 5:30am, I'm trying to find a decent cup of coffee.
